Position Overview

We are in search of a highly skilled Bricklayer to join our team within a thriving real estate company that specializes in lettings and leasehold property management. This role is pivotal in constructing and maintaining the structural integrity and aesthetic quality of our properties. The successful candidate will possess the ability to meticulously read and interpret building plans, ensuring all brickwork is executed to the highest standards.

Salary and Working Hours

  • Annual Salary: £26,500.00
  • Working Hours: Minimum of 39 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

  • Blueprint Analysis and Layout Planning: Carefully analyze building plans and specifications to determine the precise layout for brickwork. This includes marking guidelines to ensure accuracy in the construction process.
  • Mortar Preparation: Responsible for mixing mortar powder, sand, clay, and water to achieve a consistency that meets industry standards for durability and bond strength.
  • Application and Removal of Grout: Skillfully apply or remove grout using a trowel to ensure bricks are securely joined and finished to a high aesthetic standard.
  • Foundation Strengthening and Sealing: Utilize damp-resistant materials to strengthen and seal foundations, safeguarding the structure against moisture and ensuring its longevity.
  • Accurate Measurement and Placement: Before laying bricks, measure the build area meticulously to accurately place the first rows of bricks and implement the damp course, ensuring the structure’s integrity from the ground up.
  • Use of Specialized Tools: Operate a variety of tools including hand tools, brick-cutting machines, spirit levels, and plumb lines to ensure the alignment and precision of the building structure.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

Integrating the responsibilities mentioned earlier, the candidate will also be expected to:
  • Conduct structural repairs and maintenance by assessing and repairing existing structures to ensure safety.
  • Participate in new construction and refurbishment projects, laying bricks and other materials to construct walls, partitions, and other structures as per project requirements.
  • Perform custom masonry work according to specific design and aesthetic needs, including decorative stonework and intricate brickwork designs.
  • Ensure all work complies with building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with project managers, construction professionals, and subcontractors to meet project deadlines and budget requirements.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to health and safety regulations and participating in relevant training sessions.

Position Overview: Korotana Group is seeking a skilled and Carpenter to join our team. The Carpenter will be responsible for constructing, installing, repairing, and maintaining various wooden structures and fittings. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, excellent craftsmanship, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. Key Responsibilities:
  • Construct, install, and repair wooden structures and fittings such as doors, windows, cabinets, shop fronts, counter units, decking, and furniture.
  • Interpret drawings and specifications to determine job requirements.
  • Select and measure appropriate wood, and cut, shape, and drill it to specification using saws, planes, chisels, and other power or hand tools.
  • Align and fix prepared wood pieces by screwing, nailing, gluing, and dowelling to form frames and other structures.
  • Ensure accuracy of work using tools such as squares, rules, and spirit levels.
  • Maintain and repair woodwork and fittings as necessary.
  • Incorporate fixtures like door handles, locks, cabinet handles, stairway railing, and other fixtures into designs and implementations.
  • Carry out remedial work to fix maintenance issues as they arise.
  • Comply with health and safety regulations at all times.
  • Plan daily workload and ensure all tasks are completed within designated time periods.
  • Communicate effectively with residents and colleagues to coordinate work and address any concerns.
Requirements:
  • Proficiency in using carpentry tools and equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques and best practices.
  • Ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (preferred).
